Crystal Willoughby

As a child, I desired to dance but was not given the opportunity.  Without training I made up my own form of dance.

My sophomore year in college, I began teaching ballroom dance with an independent studio in Wichita, Kansas.  I have trained under world champions and champions of the United States.  Among these are Bob Powers and Julia Gorchakova, James and Joana Kunitz, John Swick, Frankie Monnhg, and many more.  I have taught ballroom dance for 18 years.  I’m currently ranked 36th in the Nation for ballroom teachers and take students to competitions twice a year.

I love to dance and think most peoples’ lives are richer with dance.  I love teaching beginners as well as the more advanced students.  It gives me more joy to watch a student understand the dance for the first time and thrills me when they step in the social dance floor and succeed.  Dance will be part on my life until the day I die and I hope I can spread the love of dance.

I specialize in Argentine Tango, Big Band Swing, and Salsa. The fast paced, energetic dances match my personality best.  I also specialize in teaching kids, high school students, and college students.

My hobbies outside of the studio are mostly socializing with friends or taking in a movie with my son.  My family and God are a source of strength for me and help in making my life more fulfilling.
